Asel Akbarova joined the team of Mercury Properties in 2019 as Chief Asset Management Manager. In January 2020, as part of the development of the talent pool programme, she was appointed as the first manager at one of the portfolio companies - Sputnik Mall, where a reconstruction project was successfully implemented. Subsequently, in April 2022, Asel was appointed to the position of Asset Management Director at Mercury Properties. In August 2023, she was appointed to the position of Deputy General Director for Asset Management.
Asel Akbarova has more than 10 years of experience in asset management, finance and investments, having previously worked for more than 3 years in the transaction support department of Deloitte LLP. She has also worked in the project structuring department of Kazyna Capital Management JSC.
Asel graduated from the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Forecasting in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance.
Yersultan Arymbayev joined Mercury Properties in 2021 as Chief Investment and Asset Management Officer. Yersultan has over 8 years of experience in corporate finance, management, investment and asset management, including significant experience working for the Big 4 firms (EY and KPMG) and leading projects to support and structure transactions of international and local companies in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Yersultan is a graduate of the Bolashak Presidential Scholarship. He holds a Master's degree in Finance and Management with highest distinction from the University of Exeter in the UK and a Bachelor's degree with distinction from the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Forecasting (KIMEP). Yersultan Arymbayev is also a member of the FMVA and a candidate for ACCA membership.
Almas Kulibayev joined Mercury Properties in 2022. Over the years Almas has held various positions in marketing, strategic development, economics and finance in the oil and gas industry.
Almas holds the following qualifications: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas; Master of Finance, Oxford Brookes University International Business School in Hungary; Bachelor of Business Studies, Oxford Brookes University International Business School in Hungary; Bachelor of Economics and Business, T. Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University.
Ayan Khanapin joined Mercury Properties in 2019 as Chief Asset Management Officer. In December 2021, he was promoted to Director of Asset Management as part of the development of the talent pool programme.
Ayan Khanapin has over 10 years of experience in finance, investment, transaction structuring and asset management. Ayan Khanapin spent four years with EY International and has experience in a construction company where he was responsible for business planning and operational efficiency.
Ayan graduated from the Kazakh Institute of Management, Economics and Forecasting with a degree in Accounting and Finance. In 2012, he studied at Sungkyunkwan University, a private university in Seoul, South Korea, as part of a student exchange programme.
Nurzhan Abenov is the Director of Strategy and Sustainable Development Department at Mercury Properties LLP. Nurzhan has over 10 years of practical professional experience in the development and implementation of corporate and functional strategies, performance management, and the establishment and development of the corporate sustainability and ESG function. Nurzhan's professional experience includes successful experience in strategic and operational consulting with a focus on operational efficiency improvement projects, business and functional strategy development, strategic cost management, IT function efficiency improvement, risk management, internal audit and sustainability practice improvement projects.
Nurzhan holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Technology Management from the University of Illinois (USA) and a Bachelor of Computer Science and Systems Automation Software from S. Demirel University.
Zhanar Dononbayeva joined Mercury Properties in 2023.
For more than 20 years Zhanar has worked in companies such as Araltuz JSC, Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan OJSC, Kazpost OJSC and has implemented large-scale, strategic projects to improve the financial efficiency of companies, building a budget planning system, including project and cash budgets, budget control mechanisms and automation/digitalisation of processes. Zhanar also has extensive experience in procurement of materials and services.
Zhanar graduated from the Kazakh State Academy of Management Almaty with a degree in Economics.
Aigerim Chokusheva joined Mercury Properties in January 2020. Since August 2022 she has held the position of Director of Legal. She was appointed Corporate Secretary in February 2024.
She started her career at Almaty District Court of Astana and Astana Court. Prior to joining the Mercury Properties team, she worked as Chief Lawyer of the Legal Department of Tsesnabank JSC, providing legal support to branches and subsidiaries, as well as claims and legal expertise of projects.
Aigerim graduated from S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University in 2015 with a Master's degree in Law, specialising in Jurisprudence.
Aidos Ismagulov joined the Mercury Properties team in August 2023. Aidos has over 15 years of experience in risk management in companies such as Halyk-life JSC, Halyk Global Markets JSC, Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, Kazkommertsbank JSC, BTA Bank JSC and others.
Aydos holds diplomas: Al-Farabi KazNU, specialising in Accounting and Audit (Bachelor's Degree); Master's Degree from the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, specialising in Financial Risk Manager (MBA).
Muslim Zhumakassov joined the Mercury Properties team in March 2023. Muslim has 7 years of experience, including 4 years of management experience in procurement and logistics of KazMunaiGas EP JSC, 12 years of experience in implementation, automation project management in companies such as KazTransCom JSC, KazMunaiGas EP JSC, NC KazMunaiGas JSC and other projects in the oil and gas sector.
Muslim holds the following diplomas: Software Engineer (Bachelor), 2004 Buketov KarGU, Software Engineer (Master), 2006 Buketov KarGU, Lawyer, 2012 Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, Master of Economics and Business, 2019 KBTU, MBA, 2019 Ufa State Technical University. Certified Project Manager IPMA Level C.
Sholpan Altybayeva has been Director of Human Resources Department at Mercury Properties since March 2023. Sholpan has 10 years of teaching experience (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Suleiman Demirel University, Atyrau UNG), more than 25 years of work experience and has implemented HR projects in Kazakhoil, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Kaztransgaz, Intergas Central Asia, KazMunayGas, KazMunayGas EP, Tengizchevroil. For her work she has been awarded the Order of Kurmet, diplomas, medals from the Council of Foreign Investors, Kazenerzhi, Oil Industry Trade Unions, Atyrau Oblast Akimat.
Sholpan graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University in 1986 with a degree in psychology. Teacher of Psychology". Certified HR (CIPD) 2014, University of Gloucestershire (UK).

Dzhamilya Sarsenbekova has been leading the accounting and reporting team at Mercury Properties since 2022. Dzhamilya has extensive experience in providing audit and advisory services to major companies in the commercial property, telecommunications and oil and gas sectors. Previously, Dzhamilya Sarsenbekova worked for over 13 years in the audit department of Ernst & Young LLP.
Jamilya graduated from the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Forecasting (KIMEP) with a degree in Accounting and Finance and is a Certified Professional Accountant of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a Certified Auditor of the Republic of Kazakhstan (CARC) and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
